All four of our studio rooms are equipped with professional sprung dance floors topped with Marley vinyl flooring, and we’re proud to offer this essential safety feature as a standard across our space.

What Is a Sprung Floor?

A sprung floor is a type of subfloor that absorbs shock and provides a slight bounce or cushioning underfoot. Unlike concrete or basic wood floors, sprung floors reduce the impact on dancers’ joints, protecting against overuse injuries and long-term damage to knees, ankles, and hips.

This is especially important for styles involving jumping, turning, and repetitive movement. A sprung floor absorbs energy from landings and helps minimize stress on the body, keeping dancers safer and more comfortable through hours of training.

What Is Marley Flooring?

On top of our sprung floors, we’ve installed professional Marley vinyl flooring, the industry standard surface used in professional dance studios, schools, and companies around the world.

Marley is a textured vinyl surface that provides the perfect balance of grip and glide. It helps dancers feel stable during movement, while still allowing them to turn and slide safely. This surface is essential for:

• Protecting skin from abrasions during floor work

• Supporting clean turns, pointe work, and barefoot movement

• Creating a consistent, reliable feel across all dance styles

The Marley layer works in combination with our sprung subfloor, creating a dual-layer system that maximizes both safety and performance.
