October Newsletter

Happy October! This new season is off to a great start, and we are delighted to have you at the studio. We have such a wonderful group of new and continuing students and families this year, and we would like to thank you for your ongoing support of our studio!!!

Nutcracker Cast 2019: Congratulations to everyone who auditioned for The Nutcracker! We are thrilled about starting rehearsals for this magical production and seeing our talented cast of performers shine. The cast list will be posted in the studio Thursday, October 3rd and our first weekend of rehearsals will begin Saturday, October 5th. Please check the Nutcracker schedule posted in the lobby and on our website for details on rehearsals. If you missed auditions and are still interested in joining the cast, it is not too late! Schedule a quick private audi- tion before October 2nd. Remember that all students enrolled in all styles of dance are invited to be in this year’s production (ages 3+). Also, just a friendly reminder that the remaining balances for the Cast Fee are due no later than October 19th. Thank you for being a part of our annual winter production!

Cookie Dough Fundraiser: The holidays are approaching and people will be baking cookies and other deli- cious goodies! Each year we offer our cookie dough fund-raiser to all students enrolled in the studio. This fundraiser allows students to earn money toward the cost of their recital costumes, which we order in January/ February. We hope that many of you will participate in this fundraiser, as it is a great way to save money and to allow your friends and family to support you in your artistic endeavors. $5 of each item you sell will go towards your recital costumes. If you are interested in this opportunity please visit the front desk to pick up a fund-raiser packet. Orders with payment must be turned in by October 21st.

Costume Week: We invite our students to wear their costumes to class between October 28-30! Please be sure to wear regular dance attire under your costume and wear something you can still dance in. Participants will get a special treat!

Halloween: Halloween is on Thursday, October 31st this year. Due to low attendance on this day in past years, the studio will be closed that Thursday to give our students the opportunity to enjoy Halloween/Fall Festivities. If your child normally takes a class on this day you are welcome to take a makeup class in the same level. Please let the front desk know if you are taking a makeup class when you arrive. We hope you have a fun and safe evening with family and friends!

Hemet Christmas Parade: This year we will be participating in the annual Hemet Christmas Parade on Satur- day, December 7th!!! We are excited to offer this fun opportunity to ALL of our students! We hope that our en- tire studio will be able to join us in representing The Dancers’ Studio family and the performing arts in our community. We will be marching and dancing down Florida Ave. from Palm Ave. to Kirby St. Students will need to wear black jazz pants or leggings, and a TDS Winter Parade Shirt, comfortable walking shoes, and their hair in a ponytail. Preorder your Winter Parade Shirt ($24.00) by Thursday, November 14th to guarantee the sizes you need. We will need to meet at 9:00am to prepare for the parade which begins at 10:00am. We are still

waiting on placement information on this event but will be sure to provide more detailed information as soon as it is available to us.
